     i)One watermelon weights 750 g and an orange weights 80g.
        Find the weight of x watermelons and y oranges together.
    ii)If the present age of Ishika is x years, write the following
         a) Her age 5 years ago
         b) Her age 6 years from now
         c) If her brother’s age is 4 years more than her age, what is
              her brother’s age now ?
4 . Simplify
      a) 230+( –89)+170+( –11) +0  
      b) 36 – [18 –{14 – (15 –4÷2x2)}]
5. The sum of the two integers is  –15. If one of them is 9, then   
     find the other number.
6. The LCM of 145 and 232 is 1160. Find the HCF .
7. Find the number which , when divided by 36 gives 92 as the
     quotient and 17 as remainder.
8. What are the opposites of integer 5 units away from  –12 ?
9. Write the roman number of a) 1567  b) 1800
10.Out of 200 students at a school  3 out of 5 like to play cricket.
      How many students do not enjoy playing this game ?

3. Write the predecessor of [– 12 + (– 3 + 6 )]
4. Observe the following

 Change one ‘ – ‘ sign as ‘+’ sign to get the sum 9.
5. The sum of two integers is 47. If one of the  
     integers is -24. Find the other .
6. Write the integer which is 4 more than its
     additive inverse.
7. Write the integer which is 2 less than its
     additive inverse .
8. Sum of two integers is -80. If one of the
    integers is -90, then find the other .
9. Subtract -5308 from the sum of
       [( –2100 ) + ( –2001 )]
10.Find the product 8739 x 102 using distributive
      property .
11. Simplify
       i) 9x(-12)+9x7
       ii) 9x(-16)+(-12)x(-16)
12. Subtract the sum of 156 and -213 from the
       sum of -118 and -520.
13.Shriya’s bank balance was Rs 5050. Her
      deposits and withdrawals are represented as
      Rs +400 ,Rs -275 , Rs +940 , Rs +352 , Rs -1050.            
      What is her bank balance now ?
14. In a mathematics examination , Jivan got 7
      marks less than Soman. Jivan got 5 marks
      more than Rashmi. Soman got 75 marks . How
      many marks did Jivan and Rashmi get ?
15.Find two numbers whose sum is 15 and their
      difference is 1.
16.A room is 5 m 60 cm long and 2 m 40 cm
      broad. What is the dimension of the largest  
      square tile that can be fixed on the floor so
      that the tiles need not be cut to fit the floor ?
